China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi to Visit South Korea for High-Level Talks
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is scheduled to visit South Korea from August 19 to 20 in a move expected to focus on relations between the two Asian powers.
During the visit, Wang is expected to meet South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and other senior officials.
Discussions are expected to cover South Korea-China relations, security issues surrounding the Korean Peninsula and wider international matters.
The visit is particularly notable because it will be Wang’s first official trip to South Korea in five years.
The two countries are also looking ahead to the APEC summit scheduled to take place in Shenzhen later this year, giving the diplomatic meetings additional importance.
