Osun Election 2026: Adeleke Wins Re-election as Osun Governor

Governor Ademola Adeleke has won re-election as the governor of Osun State after securing victory in the 2026 governorship election.

According to results reported by Nigerian news outlets, Adeleke won in 19 local government areas, while his major challenger, APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, won 11 local government areas. INEC subsequently declared Adeleke the winner of the election.

The election has attracted significant attention because Osun is one of Nigeria’s major off-cycle elections ahead of the 2027 general elections. The outcome is therefore being closely watched for what it could mean for the country’s political landscape.

Following the result, Adeleke called for unity and urged his opponents and supporters to move forward after the election. President Bola Tinubu also congratulated Adeleke on his victory, describing the result as an indication of democratic progress.
